A Legacy of Precision and Protection

Sensonics Ltd has been at the forefront of vibration, displacement, and seismic monitoring technology for over five decades. Established in the early 1970s, the company was founded with a clear mission: to provide innovative condition monitoring and protection solutions for critical rotating machinery in the power generation and process industries.

From our headquarters in the UK, we quickly established ourselves as a trusted supplier of high-integrity instrumentation to major OEMs, plant operators, and engineering contractors worldwide. Our early expertise in eddy current displacement sensors and velocity vibration transducers laid the foundation for the robust product portfolio we offer today.

Innovation Through Engineering

Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, Sensonics expanded its capabilities to include seismic monitoring and turbine supervisory instrumentation, addressing the growing demands of nuclear and conventional power markets. Our engineering team has consistently pushed the boundaries of sensor technology, from analogue systems to fully integrated digital platforms.

A major milestone in this journey was the development of the Sentry G3 system—our flagship API 670-compliant machine protection and condition monitoring platform. Designed for flexible integration and high reliability, the Sentry G3 system includes SIL-rated safety functionality, meeting the rigorous requirements for critical applications across energy and process sectors. This was followed by the DN26 G3 system, a compact yet powerful dual-channel machine protection unit designed for localized monitoring and control.

Global Reach, Personal Service

Over the decades, Sensonics has built a strong reputation not only for technical excellence but also for responsiveness and customer support. With installations in over 60 countries and a network of global partners, we continue to support clients across sectors including nuclear, oil & gas, petrochemical, marine, and heavy industry.

To better serve key international markets, Sensonics established local operations in China (2012) and India (2016), providing regional customers with enhanced technical support, engineering services, and direct access to our monitoring technologies.

We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and environmental responsibility. Sensonics is accredited to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, reflecting our dedication to quality management, environmental sustainability, and occupational health and safety. We are also proud to be JOSCAR and Achilles UVDB registered, demonstrating our compliance with stringent industry requirements for supplier assurance across defence, aerospace, and utilities sectors.

Looking Ahead

Today, Sensonics continues to invest in R&D, software development, and product innovation to meet the challenges of modern industrial monitoring. As a UK manufacturer with full control of our design, testing, and production processes, we remain agile and responsive to the evolving needs of our customers.

We’re proud of our heritage and excited about the future. As industries evolve, Sensonics remains a trusted partner for machine condition monitoring and seismic protection—providing the tools that keep critical infrastructure running safely and efficiently.
